South London Wedding Photography: the celebrations have taken over the Asylum.

A couple of months ago, in one of my new adventures in London wedding photography I shot Rachael and Luke's beautiful wedding in the Asylum, which is without a doubt, my all new favorite venue in London.

I took my camera up to Shoreditch to meet bride-to-be Rachael and best woman Anna the amazing vintage hairdressers at The Painted Lady. After a swift ale snapping the groom Luke and his pals, it was off to the Asylum in Peckham...

As a wedding venue, it's a photographers dream. Old crumbling facades and original features it looked amazing everywhere I pointed the camera. Light poured in from the high windows creating a dreamy and intimate atmosphere, extenuating all the thousands of faded colours.

With messages during the speaches from as far a field as Turkey, the guests were fortified with fine food and wine, and headed off to party the night away at The Blacksmith and The Toffeemaker. The bride's brother handy and remarkable lighting work was on view, along with bands, cocktails and a rather excellent selection of cheeses (I can recommend the tidy Cornish Yarg).
